Wine Country Super Host training:
The British Columbia Wine Information Centre is pleased to be a sponsor of the Wine Country Super Host training program in partnership with Tourism BC and the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society.

The Wine Country Super Host training program is specifically designed for those people newly employed in wine tourism and hospitality services.

Dates: Spring 2008 (May and June specific dates for 2008 to be announced)
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (1 day course)
Location: BC Wine Information Centre, Penticton

Wine Basics Course - Dates for 2008 to be announced

Wine Basics:
Do you love to drink wine but wish you knew a bit more about it? Do you want to take advantage of the benefits of living in BC Wine Country but aren't sure about all that sniffing and spitting? Wine should be fun - not intimidating! The British Columbia Wine Information Centre offers a four-part introductory wine course from time to time. It covers:
  • the basics of wine tasting (taste at least six wines each evening)
  • a look at the main varietals of grapes grown in the Okanagan (and a few of their international counterparts)
  • how wine is made
  • serving wine, proper glassware
  • simple wine and food pairing
Dates: specific dates to be announced
Hours: 2 hours/week for 4 weeks (specific dates and hours to be announced)
Location: the large meeting room upstairs at the BC Wine Information Centre
Instructor: Jolene Palmer, a certified sommelier and former writer for BC Wine Trails.
